The Wright Brothers Monument, Kill Devil Hills, NC The small buildings to the right of the sign are where the Wright Brothers did repairs and work on their aircraft. Terry Murray's KiteBus sets up.
Banners in front of the new pavilion, a series of temporary buildings built in anticipation of the centennial anniversary of the Wright Brothers flight. Dr. Francis Rogallo, inventor of the flexible wing and father of modern hang gliding (and sport kites), accepts an award from John Harris in appreciation for his tremendous contributions to kiting and flight in general. Winds were a bit up and down.  Alan Sparling and AKA president David Gomberg were flying the big kites.
